2026 Half-year report

In the first half of 2026, Gasunie continued to balance affordability, reliability and sustainability by helping shape key energy system choices, building future-proof infrastructure and delivering tangible results. By building infrastructure projects for hydrogen, CO₂, heat and LNG, we have strengthened both the energy system of today and the energy system of the future.

Gasunie took several important steps forward in the first half of 2026, contributing to both the energy transition and the security of supply. The highlights provide an overview of the company's most notable developments.

Gasunie reported revenue has risen from € 838 million in the first half of 2025 to € 1.049 million in the first half of 2026. Next to this, the reported EBITDA is € 211 million higher compared to the first half of 2025 (€ 594 million compared to € 383 million).

Gasunie Transport Services transported 5% less natural gas in the first half of 2026, resulting from a decline in both cross-border transport and transport towards the gas storages. However, the natural gas consumption in the Netherlands increased by 2%. One of the reasons is the rising demand from power stations which increased significantly with 12%. Power producers are using natural gas increasingly to deal with changes in solar and wind energy production.

Gasunie made progress with its projects supporting the energy security and energy transition. Gasunie took a conditional investment decision for the extension of the EemsEnergyTerminal. In Rotterdam, the first part of the national hydrogen network was officially opened. WarmtelinQ started with the heat network between Rijswijk and Leiden.

In the first half of 2026, we generated approximately € 200 million more in revenue and approximately € 148 million more in result after taxation compared with the first half of 2025.
